ABOUT OUR SPAY/NEUTER CLINICS

All cats must come in approved humane, live traps and will be eartipped!

Operation Catnip provides spay-neuter services to free-roaming, unowned community cats in Alachua County and the surrounding areas. All cats must come to our clinics in approved, humane, live traps, regardless of temperament. No carriers are accepted, even if the cat is friendly. All cats will receive an eartip (removal of 3/8 of an inch from the left or right ear), the universally-accepted symbol of a sterilized and Rabies-vaccinated community cat.

Clinic Services

Community Cat Package: Suggested donation $60
Spay-Neuter Surgery, Vaccinations (FVRCP & Rabies), Flea Treatment, Eartip, and Pain Medication
Additional services to treat illnesses or injuries may be offered depending on available resources and at the discretion of the lead veterinarian.

Financial assistance Is Made available through grant funding and the donations of generous caregivers and supporters, whose gift ensures that this program remains accessible to those unable to cover the full cost of the services. You will be able to indicate the need for financial assistance during the booking process.

We welcome kittens 12 weeks of age or older (and 3 lbs in weight or more) for spay-neuter at our clinics. Kittens pre-approved for the Kitten Shelter Diversion (KSD) Program Kitten can be seen as early as 8 weeks of age (or 2 lbs in weight) and up until 16 weeks of age (or 4 lbs in weight).
